In addition to updating the program, removing and reinstalling Prime Video also removes any corrupted data. It’s a digital clean slate—a very flexible step that fixes anything from playback hiccups to unsuccessful login attempts.

    It’s interesting to note that a number of reports have linked firewall or antivirus settings to the 5004 error. The communication ports that Amazon uses to verify user accounts may unintentionally be blocked by overly protective security software.
