I am a textile artist and freelance tutor specialising in hand embroidery. My current work is focused on working with adults with disabilities, mental health issues and BME groups.
I use my personal art practice of hand embroidery and illustration to deliver workshops and projects to a range of community groups. The aim of my work is to use textiles to develop confidence, creativity and engender wellbeing. I also have a personal collection of textiles which I use in workshops to promote a love of culture, heritage and storytelling. I have a learner led approach and aim to make learning a joyful, tactile and immersive experience.
I have also created and exhibited textile work around my experience of having a daughter with sever autism and regularly create short video work around the subject.
